Established as Africa’s leading annual affordable housing gathering, the 40th Annual African Union for Housing Finance (AUHF) Conference and AGM held in collaboration with the International Secondary Mortgage Association (ISMMA) annual conference, is set to take place from 14 October – 18 October 2024 at the Melia Hotel, Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Housing Finance Bank was first incorporated as a private limited company in 1967, They were trading as ‘Housing Finance Company Uganda Limited’ carrying out business as a non-banking credit institution that was providing mortgage finance and also accepting savings deposits from the public. The Housing Finance Bank became licensed and regulated by the Bank of Uganda as a commercial Bank in 2007 to carry on business of a banking under the Financial Institutions Act and changed into a public limited liability company known as Housing Finance Bank Limited.

We are looking for INNOVATIVE HOUSING INITIATIVES or projects that are building Africa’s affordable housing sector. Selected projects will be invited to give a 5 minute pitch at the upcoming 38th annual AUHF conference in Cairo, Egypt. Presentations will be reviewed by a panel and the winner determined by the audience through their ‘investments’. Participation is FREE but organisations are required to pay their own admission to the conference. See www.auhfconference.com

Introduction

About Jacques Tiendrebeogo

Jacques Tiendrebeogo was born on May 3, 1995 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He is an Urban Planner, Planner and Urban Manager specializing in International Cooperation, first trained at the African School of Architecture and Urbanism EAMAU in Lomé, Togo, then at the Grenoble IUGA Urbanism Institute in France. These professional experiences were acquired in West, Central and North Africa and in Europe.

He is the manager of the urban studies office Beogo Cities, which makes the subject of affordable housing and its financing one of its major areas of research and support-advice for the benefit of the private and public sectors.
