The newsletter covers: a broad range of housing news on the African continent; a profile of an AUHF member; a profile of a non-AUHF member who is a player in the field of housing finance; a report review and; a graph on trends in the housing and housing finance space. The member news section begins to illustrate the impact of AUHF members on the continents Affordable Housing Finance space. In this month’s newsletter, we profile AUHF member, the Govan Mbeki Housing Company- a South African social housing institution. Our player in focus for the month is a Kenyan property development company called, Suraya Property. The graph of the month, taken from the 2012 issue of the Housing Finance in Africa yearbook, presents the African lending interest rates. The Housing Finance in Africa yearbook which is published annually by FinMark Trust’s Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) will be launched at the upcoming AUHF conference.
We have changed our news section slightly to highlight member specific news and initiatives. So we still have the “in the news” column, but we have added a “member news” column.
