Chairman, African Union
for Housing Finance (AUHF)
Mr. Reginald
Motswaiso is the Chairman of the African Union for Housing Finance (AUHF).
He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Botswana Housing Corporation
(BHC). The core business of the BHC is the provision of housing, office
and other building needs of Government and local authorities, as well as
making arrangements for other persons to undertake and carryout building
schemes in Botswana. The company is involved in Property Development,
Estates management, facilities management and other construction related
consulting works for third parties. It has vast estates in eleven
satellite offices throughout the country. It has developed shopping malls
commercial units and office blocks through joint ventures.
Reginald
joined the BHC from Standard Chartered Bank Botswana, first as the Finance
Director. He went on to become the Executive Director responsible for
Finance, IT, Human Resources and the Turn Around Strategy. At Standard
Chartered Bank he was responsible for Botswana Unit’s reports to Africa
Office in London. He set up a unit that advised on and appraised the
bank’s business units including Risk profiling and management (ALM).
Reginald is
a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and a Chartered Management
Accountant (ACMA) having studied at AT Foulkes Lynch and Emile Wolfe Group
of colleges in London. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from
University of Botswana. Reginald is an associate of the Zell/Lurie Real
Estate Centre of the Wharton School of Finance, University of
Pennsylvania. He is also a Leadership Education Associate of the
University Of Stanford Graduate School Of Business in Palo Alto,
Califonia.
Mr. Motswaiso has
served in a number of Boards including CIMA Southern Africa, Public
Enterprises Evaluation and Privatisation Agency (PEEPA) and the Botswana
Stock Exchange (BSE). He is currently a Board member of Standard Chartered
Bank Botswana and Sefalana Holdings – a diversified holding with
subsidiaries ranging from grain and milling, wholesale distribution, motor
and machinery distribution, soap and other chemical manufacturing with
leading brands portfolio including Honda, MAN, Tata, Massey Ferguson, John
Deere and others. |
